Hello, dancers and friends!
The Austin Bellydance Association is proud to present "Another Year and A Day." This show features ABA members who committed over a year ago to work on a single dance for the entire prep time, and the results should be astounding, if we can judge by the results we got at our earlier event with the same theme, held in September 2007. This time around, performers are Sahhira, Baharat, Shelagh, Jamie Lynn, Damali Troupe, Eva Tennessee, Fairytale Theatre, Hope, Desert Passion Middle Eastern Dance Company, and Stacey Lizette and the Tekatek Ensemble.
The event will be at the Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Rd, this Friday, October 9th, show starting at 8pm. Doors will open at 7:30, but we have an unusual request. Due to a scheduling problem, there is another event being held in the gallery until 8pm, so they have asked that we not enter the theatre until 7:30 and later, so please do not arrive too early. Don't worry, we won't start the show without you. We anticipate having a couple of vendors that can set up in the back of the theatre, and we will have the refreshment table set up in the lobby by the time we reach intermission. But here's the best part:
Admission is free for any ABA member, free! And only $10.00 for guests and $5.00 for kids 12 and under. But we also offer a special deal for those who are not members yet. If you pay membership dues to our door person, you start enjoying the benefits of being a member immediately, which means you get into this show for free! We have several shows a year where members get in free or discounted, so you could pay yourself back the $20.00 yearly fee just by going and seeing more shows.
