Well I am finally doing it......I'm nervous as all get out, but in hopes of bolstering my confidance, I'm posting here about my first real solo performance, and it's coming up! December 1st to be exact. Yikes! It's wierd, I've been dancing on and off (it sure seems like more 'off' than 'on' thats for sure) since I was 18, and aside from haflas and one group performance, I've never once been on stage! So, with my friend Anaid's support, I'm finally doing it......wish me luck!
Just for some added support.....I'd like to ask the group about their first solo performance. Were you scared? What did you do to overcome that first-timer jitters?

Wed, November 28, 2007 - 8:12 AMHey, now...you are a great and beautiful dancer, Su! And we all know that when we first met at Lucila's it was hard to believe that you hadn't performed. I think you are gonna be great. We are gonna have so much fun at this hafla, and all the dancers performing are VERY VERY supportive and encouraging :) I remember one petite red-haired lady (hint) telling me last year, that she still gets nervous from time to time and she performs ALOT. I think that helped me realize that no matter how prepared and confident you may be, we all get the jitters. If it's any consolation, I was pulled onstage at my last performance to improv with a live band...that was difficult for me, because I had never done that before, but it was fun and I am sooo glad I let the dancers pull me onstage.
